1. I don’t see why Top-half Tina can’t figure it out. Bottom-half Betty wins 67% to 33% and she can’t talk. Aside from her knocking over the furniture, all’s well.

  2. I like all of these! Thanks, folks.

Is the can design that of original Barbasol? In any case, he always uses it before he’ll let a blade touch his skin.

A different misunderstanding of “spin” than what I thought when first hearing of this exercise activity. I figured it was just an organized version of what we did as kids — stretch your arms out and twirl around vertically, enjoying when it makes you dizzy. After all, there are grown-ups trying to revive skipping.

The enormous-cream-pie joke is similar to another I saw recently, but both good.

  3. Yes, Kilby, that was pretty much it! And I did think it was being re-introduced into adult exercise programs as “spin class”. From what I’ve seen of the stationary-bicycle-pedalling version, this would be a lot more fun.

  4. Mitch4, I have a different misconception. Every time I hear someone talk about taking/going to a spin class, I immediately envision a roomful of people spinning fiber into thread.

I was very disappointed when I found out what it really was.

  5. Chak, the classes should cover how to avoid poisoned spindles on the spinning wheels. That’s the most I’ve known about that kind of spinning!

  6. When I took a spin class, it involved spinning straw into gold.

I wonder what ever became of the instructor, that nice Mr. Rumpelstiltskin? I heard he got mad at someone in the class, and then he split.

  7. “I wonder what ever became of the instructor, that nice Mr. Rumpelstiltskin?”

He removed his own heart and put it in Captain Hook’s chest to save the latter and to thwart the evil Rumple from the Wish Realm. At least that’s what “Once Upon a Time” had.

  8. @ MiB – According to Singapore Bill, she’s his better 2/3rds. I sure hope the rationale behind that calculation is not what I think it is

  9. Kilby, while hope springs eternal, the existence of that hope would indicate you don’t know me so well. đŸ™‚

  10. One gets more exercise with the older style walking wheel (good for wool) spinning wheel than the “newer” ones where one can remain seated and are good for linen.
